~ West Virginia, by God! ... ~

Wandering thru West Virginia 2 weeks ago ~

These are some of the wonderful views of God's little piece of Heaven on this earth ... not unlike other less photogenic moments we got quite a chuckle from the '3 pot decor' alongside the road. We saw several 'single pots' filled with lovely flower gardens here & there ...

The leaves were just beginning to be kissed with autumn, adding a touch of color & enjoyment to view, of crispy air & the earth preparing to rest.

Many old farm buildings add wonderful countryside beauty, as did the country homes. You can see the wonderful beauty of the hillsides that roll on & on & on ... so majestically.

A beautiful country church dressed in her finest color of red with her steeple adorned top nestled amongst the trees, holding within the presence of God that radiates thru the walls into the countryside. It is so powerful that you can feel His beauty surrounding you ... bringing such a sense of peace & serenity.

And, then you happen upon the Hillybilly Hog Dog stand with a large crowd of folks enjoying his food & cooling drinks on the hot summer day. Rather picturesque ... lots to see & antiques galore.

(If you enlarge the picture) this front porch is an occasional sight to see here & there dotting the landscape of West Virginia adding a little more color & a chuckle, 'whatever happened to storage sheds'.

We will share over the next several days, a lot of breathtaking pics of this beautiful state ... we had a very relaxing & enjoyable travel there, once again.

  6. Pleasure to see the sites with you.
    Good ole America!!!
Aren't we thankful to be able to freely drive around and take photos of what we see?
May it stay this way and we don't become socialistic where we have to have check end points.
    God Bless,

  18. Honestly I was only joking in my post about what to do with 2 old toilets! I jokingly suggested that we put them in the front yard and plant flowers. I really was joking! My husband took them off yesterday! Whew!

  20. Hello, Marydon,
I enjoyed my tour through West Virginia via your beautiful pictures. Isn't that country church beautiful? I have only been "back east" as they say, one time. I went on a trip to Pennsylvania, and I told everyone when I got back home that I thought West Virginia was one of the most beautiful states we crossed. Have a good end of the week and a great weekend. Vicki

  31. I think WV and Kentucky are just beautiful- more so than here in VA. And there's just something about seeing roads named "opossum hollow". ☺

  32. I have loved visiting W,Va, with you. My late husband was a truck driver and daily hauled freight into Bluefield, Princeton, Beckley and towns close to the Virginia line for 39 years.I miss going there since he is gone. You have blessed me today.
    Thank you.

  34. The pots along the side of the road crack me up. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would put them there, leave them there instead of hauling them away. They make for fun photo's, but I sure wouldn't want to live across the street and have to look out my window and see them day after day.
