~ Meandering Thru WV Covered Bridge & .... ~
WV is a very mountainous state, dressed in lush peaks & valleys that are filled with breathtaking forestry, florals & wildlife. It is colorful in the landscape dotted with millions of trailer homes ... you have seen some of the homes we have shared with you over the past month ... the ones that tickle us are the exquisite homes nestled next to a trailer home creating a very interesting but picturesque scene. The farms & their structures are tucked in under majestic trees for shade from the heat of the day & are dotted with beautiful cattle & horses radiantly showing in the brilliant sun ... we didn't see many pigs, sheep or goats. The people are very warm & welcoming ... just down home good folks. We took this trip last month & the leaves were barely turning, but we have been there in the midst of the 'turning' in her glory, & it is as beautiful as New England. We have 2 more days of posting of this trip for you to enjoy.
(Uh-hhmmmm! I tell you Miss R, I see that little outhouse painted white w/roses vining all over the door, a candle flickering for illumination, lace fabric draped between the 'holes' & a book rack filled with decorating mags tucked inside for enjoyment! Chuckle! I also hear you going ACK!!!))

Hi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pictures of WV and some of it's scenery. I would so love to be able to see more of the east part of the US. It just seems so lush and green in your photos here in WV. I love the structures the dot their hillsides. That is the longest covered bridge that I have ever seen.
Hugs,
June
Philippi has one of my favorite stores but can't remember the name. Steve, my brother, lives in Randolph County and we always visit Philippi when I vist Steve. Your meanderings sound wonderful; God speed on your journey!

Have never been in that part of the country, but it certainly appeals to me. And now, what little outhouse were you describing - a real one or the way you would decorate one!! I am an expert at outhouses and decorating one in the shabby chic style would be wonderful - depending on the weather conditions. If it's too cold or too hot you certainly don't want to linger and read decorating magazines!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the autumn weekend, Marydon. Carol

ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the church. It is stunning. I did not know you were an antique dealer. How fun, I always wanted to be that when I grew up. I guess I missed it. Thank you for the birthday wishes. Blessings to you my dear friend. Martha
