~ Little Red Riding Hood Once Met A BIG Bad Wolf .......~

Holy Tamoly!!! How big you are, Grandmother! Ack!!

This Wolf was shot recently in Drayton Valley, Alberta ….which is near Edmonton about 3 hours North of Calgary. The wolf weighs over 230lbs smashing the previous record of 175lbs. Wouldn’t want to run into this puppy in the woods. Apparently a bear hunter witnessed this wolf chase off a big black bear at his baiting station. (TY for sharing Buck!)

(PS This is not intended to be more than educational & informative ~ he was 'eating' something for sure. I am not an advocate of hunting one bit. )

  2. Hi Sweet Peanut Butter,
What Big eyes you have, the better to SEE you with my Dear. That is one big wolf. I didn't even realize that they could get that big. I would be absolutely terrified to see something like that. Looks like something out of a horror movie for sure.

Talk to you soon sweetie. I love you, Cherry Jelly

  3. OK, here comes the other side.

How long had that wolf lived, to reach 230 pounds?

    Had he been hurting anyone?

Should that bear hunter be so hippity-happy to have shot that animal?

    Shot.

    Shot.

    Shot.

What chance did the wolf have, when this guy went out with his fancy camaflague outfit on, and his bigggggggggg gun? What chance?

He may well eat bear meat.

But, is this *bozo* going to eat wolf meat?

Aunt Amelia says; "Wipe the grin off your face Mister. I don't happen to think it makes YOU a big MAN, to have shot that magnificent creature." And Aunt Amelia would be happy to say that, to his face.

    Ugh...

  7. WOW....and I thought my 125 pound alaskan malamute was big. My malamute is wonderful (a therapy dog), but extremely strong and stubborn. I can not imagine a wild wolf at 230 pounds.

  13. Certainly doesn't look like the wolf in the picture book I read while I was growing up. Watch out Little Red Riding Hood.

  17. He was huge, but also a magnificent wild creature. I've been a wolf watcher and admirer in Yellowstone. I do hate to see a wolf shot.

  19. Marydon, I just want to say I know you're not advocating wolf hunting, just relaying the facts with a cute red riding hood slant.

  20. Holy smokes, that is one big wolf.

I don't think that hunter is grinning; I think he is grimacing with the effort of supporting that much WOLF.

Yikes. Now I know why I don't hike in the woods....

  22. My what a big wolf you have, my dear! *hehe*....

I do agree with Auntie, though... that magnificent animal, unfortunately, should be on display now somewhere in a natural history museum (or some place of that sort). It's got to be one of it's kind. It's a shame that the life was cut short...

  25. Any one complaining about the shooting of this animal would surely be singing a different tune had you been there seeing him look at you like your lunch! Had it been unnecessary none of us know we were not there!
