~~ Feedsack Heaven * Lollipop, Lollipop, Ohhhh, Lollipop~~
I have NEVER had the Lollipop feedsack before & I got (2)!!! I am a 'sucker!!' for these little beauties. Oh, joy!! These are just a few of the novelty feedsacks that we acquired. I was in heaven ........... There is a wide range of 1930s to 1950s era.
We traveled last week to WV as you may recall from our Dixie-'land' fun visit posts. Of course, going & coming we had to 'antique' & search for these gorgeous fabrics. We acquired about 75 & were tickled with each. When we returned home we hit a mother-load when our mail was delivered & also a friend had purchased several ... 250+ in total.
And, then I got sick ... been a long week in bed but Dr. fixed me up with more new antibiotics today & I'll live ... TY for your wonderful notes, they were truly appreciated.
Please remember to continue to pray for all those that we know & do not know ... every word is heard. Thank you.

Hello, Marydon,
ReplyDeleteYou called to remembrance a song I hadn't heard in a long time, "Lollypop". Now, I am telling my age! Your materials are beautiful and colorful. I hope you are on the mend and feeling much better. Have a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by and paying me a visit. Vicki
Oooh I love those feedsacks. Hope you're soon feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you have not been well and I hope with the antibiotics you are feeling better now.
I have a sore throat today and feel like I am coming down with the flu.
I love all your feedsacks, they are all so lovely.
Hugs
Carolyn
Hi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better, I have been trying to catchup on some of your previous post, and have enjoyed everyone of them, Dixie sounds like such a great and fun friend. And I loved the story of how you surprised her.
It seems you had a great trip, don't you love stopping by antique places in new towns?
Now about your feedsack finds they are just beautiful. I remember my dear grandmother buying her chicken feed in sacks like these, and when they were empty, she would wash them and make dresses out of them. Just seeing these tonight, brought back such great memories. Thank you. I will continue to pray for our friends here in blogland, and you are so right there are a lot of them going through trying times right now.
Blessings,
sue
I have never seen so many feedsacks in one place! LOL They are just lovely. Sure hope you get to feeling better soon. Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. DH was stationed in Kodiak while in the Coast Guard. I left my heart in Alaska.....
ReplyDeleteTake care *hugs*deb
We were stationed there from '91-'94. My oldest graduated from High School there. I had just had our 4th, he was 6 wks old when we transferred. We also had orders for Hawaii at one point(30yrs ago), but they were cancelled when travel funds got tight. Ah yes Buskin River...saw many a bear down there ;) Miss the buskin River Inn..great place. Shucks, miss the Wild Blueberries, Salmon Berries, Salmon, Dollies, Halibut, Cod, Crab......I could go on & on! LOL Just a whole different way of life, so much calmer. Winters really weren't really that bad compared to Anchorage & other places. Thanks for letting me reminesce. *hugs*deb

Hi Marydon, I am so sorry you were sick, and glad to hear you on the mend now.
ReplyDeleteYou know for the longest time I couldn't get to your blog very often. The internet kept throwing me off. It happened with other blogs too. I guess google has fixed it as the problem seems to be gone.
I remember my Aunt making flour sacks into cuptowels or dishtowels as most people call them. She would crochet beautiful edging on them. I always thought they were so pretty.
I never realized that flour sacks came in so many prints. I bet they are really nice for using in a lot of different projects.I am going to have to go through your site to see what you do with them.
Have a great day and thank you for visiting my blog.
Iris
Hope you are on the mend. Your feedsacks remind me of wonderful sweet pieces of hard candy we used to get at Christmas. All the bright colors. My grandmother used to make me dresses for school out of feedsacks and trim them with rick rack. Then she would starch them so stiff I couldn't bend. But what love she put in those dresses.
ReplyDeleteOh I want them all!!! I love them.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Marydon, for stopping by my blog. I love your blog...too bad I don't quilt..I would be in serious trouble!!
ReplyDeleteSherry
Marydon - your fabrics are beautiful! I am so sorry you had to be so sick though. Hope you "hair up and heal over" real quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove, linda the sewing granny
Lovely fabric!
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous. Love anything with lollipops or cupcakes. So glad that you are feeling better. Prayers for a complete recovery.
ReplyDeleteHi Marydon,
ReplyDeleteI didn't have any idea there were so many sweet prints on these sacks. The ones my mother had and g-mother had were flowered and striped.
I'm trying to catch up on blog-hopping. I've been to see my g-children and didn't have access to a computer much.
I hope you are feeling better now that you are on the medication.
Hugs,
June
They are all lovely. Whats a lucky finds. Glad you are feeling better. Take more rest for the full recovery - Hugs Natima
ReplyDeleteYou just wonder what was in that bag of lollipop printed fabric!! Glad you are feeling a little better, Marydon.
