~ All Gussied Up To Go Down To The Farm ...
you gotta look good! for pete's sake!!! (Now you KNOW I couldn't pass up an antique mall on the way!, that just won't happen!)
And this is NOT what you want to be following down the road on a warm day ... peee-yew!! (Sorry had to say it this way!)
A small touch of autumn finally arriving here in Maryland ... so gotta get those clothes hung out while the wind can whip them dry ... & the car needs a bath (This family is probably going to spit when they see this pics ~ chuckle!, too cute to pass up!).
The drive is beautiful ... the sun is kissing the earth with warmth ... the sky is robin egg blue ... a soft gentle breeze caresses your cheek ... so we'll go over & take a peek at the Loy Station Covered Bridge in Thurmont, Md, since this is another meandering drive. It is such a pretty bridge & there are so few in MD., we are lucky to be close to enjoy it.
Well, that was a leisurely & enjoyable respite, so we'll mosey on over to the farm, as we pass some lovely countryside. Hope you are enjoying the drive ......
NOW to VISIT this farm you will need to go to this link below ... it is called the Just You Wait and See Farm, in Union Bridge, MD. It was built in 1856 & my friends own it. They are in a contest with Campbell's Soup (yup!) for a full restoration of it. These pieces of Americana are one day going to be obsolete, so I commend these folks that are involved in restorations of their barns. You may read all the history & FFA support from this venture. Just follow the simple directions on the front page. (IF you are a farm/country inspired blog, please share this with your followers)
We would greatly appreciate your voting for this farm ... you may do so once a day until Jan. 2010. They are renovating the farm house now, which knowing Jodee will be awesome when completed. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL THE SUPPORT YOU WILL GIVE THEM.

Oh Marydon, you are a hoot! I love you in that hat! The countryside is sooo beautiful, I wish I HAD a clothesline again! I used to love to hang clothes out to dry... I hope your friends win the contest and get their farm restored... growing up all the boys in our school were in FFA and all the girls were in FHA (including Moi!)... I don't think kids today even know what that means... so sad... Bisous... Julie Marie

This is the best hat yet! You have to keep your sense of humor about you when dealing with funny animal smells I say. I love old barns and will definitely go and see the site. I would imagine it would cost a small fortune to restore a large one, I'm sure they can use all the help they can get! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteHey Marydon, I'm loving that silly hat!! ON YOU ! My little pin head does NOT look good in hats, however...
ReplyDeleteI don't do farm country very well... I have enhanced olfactory senses and stinky ol' smells really bother me. But I'd definitely keep the windows rolled up until I got to an antique store! LOL

Marydon~ You and the Hat...tres chic!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, passing up an antique mall is like passing up "CHOCOLATE!"
I read through all your quotes today, (on your sidebar). You've really got a talent for writing. I hope you continue to post them.
I always look forward to your familiar face at my humble blog. Thanks for your sweet comments and the visits.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
Marydon,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely chic hat! I enlarged the photo of the vehicle you were following, what is that a ram of some type? It looks huge whatever it is. I also see you’re a quilter like me. I have been away from the sewing machine for awhile, but enjoy viewing other’s creations.
Cathy
Your a hilarious! Wish I had friends like you around!
