~Tablescape Thursday ~ ... So NOT!!

... the rose napkin holder was a close to 'frilly & fluffy' as I was EVER going to get with these 'big puppies'. Joshua even took my plant arrangement OFF the table. Chuckle!! They finished off the bbq ribs & sausages, nothing left to lick! We all had a great time, their sharing tales of their escapades, enjoying a nice, simple, leisurely outdoor dinner on the terrace. Joshua is on the right, Harold center & friends Chris & Steve on the left.

  1. Haha! You're a bit outnumbered there. Good that you still managed to get some frilly and fluffy happening. But the good memories of time spent together is the precious part.

  2. What a delightful outdoor dinner. The guys might not like the arrangement on the table, but we gals know they can't take the flowers off the plates :-)

  3. My husband does that as well. Takes the centerpiece off so he can see people better. Your dinner looks nice and even better, they ate it all!

  4. Marydon, this post really gave me a heehaw laugh (not very ladylike, I know). As I read your post, a vision of those big guys of yours openning delicately embroderied napkins ran through my mind's eye.
The cap on the last pic really makes the colors pop :-)

  6. Honey, they would have been just as happy with paper plates! I am sure they appreciated your efforts though. And something tells me you were a happy camper watching them enjoy the food!

  14. LOL!! Well it did look pretty before the menfolk got there. So funny they even removed the plant. My boys are the same way around here....it's "move all Mom's stuff so we don't mess it up, and pass the ribs!" Gotta love em.
    Have a super day!

  20. Don't you know when all that muscle is at the table...Tablescape means plates with food and glasses with cold drinks in them..LOL?

  21. whenever steve does something like removes the centerpiece from my table, I just give him this blank look, and he says "oh!" and puts it back. It's a technique I've watched my mother perfect for 51 years.

  22. Hi Marydon,
Just wanted to say thanks for all your nice comments and for following. I wasn't sure who my new follower was with the trouble blogger has been having.

I stopped by yesterday but was in mid comment when I had to shut down the computer to take care of a problem with the kids!

I think you were lucky to get any thing fancier than paper plates at such a manly feast!LOL! You did good!
