I captured this rainbow from our front porch the other day. We don't usually see very many of them in our area. I am surprised at how well it turned out from my digital camera.

VACATIONS ~ DH wants you to each know that it is not good to post your vacation plans before you leave. (He is my computer expert). There are so many avenues to find your names & addresses online .. apparently there has been home invasions for people vacationing. They can even do a google earth search & find the exact location of your homes & surrounding areas.

I have become a follower. It sounds as if you and I have a lot in common. I love vintage things so much. I love children more than anything else in life. I taught school for 33 years. We have 3 dds and 5 grands. Your DH is smart about not mentioning vacation plans. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment so I could find your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, one more thing. My mom and sister and several aunts and cousins were red heads. I, on the other hand, had brown hair. I wore all the pinks and reds. My cousin, who is my age always got to wear the greens and blues. Now, green is my favorite all time color, followed closely by purple and yellow. I have just begun wearing pink and red again.
ReplyDeleteHi Marydon, Thanks for the info and great tips. Your friendship is such a blessing and I enjoy your blog very much. What a beautiful rainbow! Have a nice afternoon.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love the beautiful rainbow. It turned out so clearly too! Amazing! The tips are GREAT! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing coincidence that you grew up in Chehalis! Especially now that you live so far away. I also find it VERY special that yo have family items in the Borst Home. I remember seeing the rug and thinking how fantastic it was. It's huge! I'll have to look for the salt and pepper shakers next time. The guide told us that things had been donated to help fill the home, but I never imagined I would find a connection to one of my fellow bloggers. It IS a small world isn't it! Saturday I'll be posting about the gardens if you'd like to check back and when we do the tour, if they allow photographs, I'll snap one of the rug for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips today, I found the liquid C for sunburns the most helpful. I'll have to keep it in mind for the next sunburn!
Marydon!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the encouragement you left me about my laundry room. And thanks for the tips. The vacation one is smart.
Rhonda
Marydon, LOVE your rainbow picture. Funny, we just had one show up the other day too late in the evening when the sun was setting and the rain drizzling down on us. It was the most fantastic rainbow, set against pink colored clouds. Something to make this pink-lover's heart beat a bit faster. I wanted to get a picture of the rainbow and then remembered that my daughter has my camera on vacation with her in the states right now while she visits with my family. So much for a rainbow picture for me to post! :-) I loved your post on the covered bridges. I always enjoyed seeing them in New England when my family would visit there during the summers. We were able to see one over here in Germany last autumn while in the Black Forest, so it made me wonder if they did not start here and people moving to the states many years ago took the idea with them! something to ponder on. hope all is well there, what a lovely blog you have, I love the color!!! Debby
ReplyDeleteNot to worry about the post about leaving! Our house was broken into when we were in Texas this spring, so now we are alarmed up like Fort Knox!

Never heard of fabric soak. Thanks for the tip, Marydon. yeah, I always thought you were saying Ta-ta for now! ☺ ♥
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed seeing the pretty rainbow from your porch! I think everyone loves rainbows and we don't get to see them very often. A couple of years ago my daughter and I were in a mall parking lot and there was the most gorgeous double rainbow clear across the sky. Breathtaking! Good tips in your post, too. Carol
ReplyDeleteGreat tips....especially about vacation plans.

Great advise about vacation plans. It's really never a good idea to broadcast things like that, esp on the internet world. Girl, you have 139 followers now! I agree with you, it has been so wonderful to meet so many new friends from all over the world!

I wish I had had your treatment for a sunburn earlier. I suffered a severe sunburn over the weekend and was in such intense pain. Your treatment would have brought some relief.
