TODAY IN HISTORY ~ 1863 President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address as he dedicated a national cemetery at the site of the Civil War battlefield in Pennsylvania.

    As always I can come here and learn something each day. I did not remember the exact date of the Gettysburg Address. You have given me back a piece of history for my memory. Thank you my precious friend.

  10. See, this is a great reason to visit you, you always share such fascinating little tidbits. Can you imagine living through that time, it must have been so scary and uncertain facing the thought of war in your homeland, against fellow countrymen, friends and family.   11. I will never forget the visit to Gettysburg for me. I was 14 years old & had read much about the Civil War. It was chilling to be there where so much history took place.

  12. Thanks for the reminder Marydon! We went up in the Tower in Gettysburg ( the one that overlooked the cemetery) That was an awesome view! It was so old they tore it down.. Haven't been back there in awhile. That place is sooo full of History!! Love it!
