~~ BIRD RESCUE ~~

As we were chatting on the upper terrace I looked over & saw a BIRD with his little head stuck in the hole of the bird feeder. His little body shook. I let out a 'war hoop' ... DH says 'it's dead' as he shakes the body & then the little body fluttered! I was frantic as I can't touch birds, due to allergies ... I started 'you've gotta save it, you've gotta help it ...', then 'wait a minute I've got to get the camera' & I took off running ... I had to get this captured. DH literally took the feeder down as I'm yelling 'grab his body & pull, for God's sake don't hurt him' & lots of other frantic jabber ... THEN all of a sudden as DH went to pull his little body, it jostled the little fella enough to break loose & he took off like a bullet ... as he departed I'm telling the little fella 'you need to learn to keep your head out of holes'. Scared me to near tears, but all's well that ends well ... TG! Relief!!!!! TY hubby ...

  3. My son made a birdhouse and we put it up this weekend. Not 2 minutes after it was up, two mountain bluebirds stopped and checked it out, stuck their little heads in the holes. They must have been house hunting!

  5. I'm so glad that y'all were able to save the little bird. We saved one this week too! My friend is going to do a post on it and I will let you know when he does. Of course, I had to get out the camera!

  8. I know what you were feeling. I fall apart when I see animals hurt or in distress. Babies and animals, neither one can tell what is wrong. I am so glad there was a happy ending.

  10. They are so small and appear so fragile it is difficult to know how to help sometimes. But, fortunately, this one was freed with little distress (except yours, of course...I know the feeling all too well)! Thanks for being a bird lover!
