I was on the ceiling when I saw this cupboard FULL OF FEEDSACKS staring me directly from the screen ... Ack! Where was she, I've got to get her to REMEMBER!, OMG! did she not know I collect these 'beauties'!?

I wrote Bren & she did remember & gave me the info ... TG for memories!! & sharing!!

Well, these are those gorgeous feedsack fabrics that were in her pics ... I am so excited & happy ... all 200 were exquisite & in excellent condition.

From the bottom of my HEART, Bren ... THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! Warm hugs of gratitude, Me

  2. Now---besides collecting these feedsack fabrics, what do you do with them, Marydon??? I have a Colorado friend who quilts --and she loved making quilts from the old feedsacks.

Glad Bren found them---and blogged about them. See what we learn from blogger friends???? Wow!!!! Did that 'good friend' pay for them for you too???? ha ha

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  7. What a great find. About 10 years ago I found a stash like that in Ohio...bought all of them. I have yet to use any of mine....

  8. What's lucky finds. Marydon, do you make quilts from them or you collect them for special collections? I have some pieces I bought from Lancaster and it has shamlocks on it. I used some for the backing of my Irish quilt - Hugs Natima

  15. Congratulation Marydon, on finding these treasures, I know the feeling of finding something that you have been looking for.
I was reading some of your previous post, and enjoyed them so much especially the bison farm. But the post of Rick Warren was so inspiring, I can't tell you how blessed I was to read of this interview, He brought so many things into perspective for me, thank you sooo much or sharing this.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  27. Feed sacks sure do bring back memories for me. My mother made me ( she did not sew much) a blouse for Easter from a feedsack with red flowers on it when I was about 10. Those were the days. My whole thought on this is "Use what you have" My Etsy implys that concept.
